Ukrainian
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a firm warning ahead of an upcoming
meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Speaking out, he emphasized that Ukraine will never withdraw its troops from
its own land, particularly the Donbas region, which remains illegally occupied.
He cautioned
that relinquishing control would offer Russia a strategic
"springboard" for further military advances. Zelenskyy stated, “We
will not leave Donbas. We cannot do this. Everyone forgets the first part—our
territories are illegally occupied.”
In a message
shared via Telegram, he reaffirmed that Ukraine’s sovereignty is enshrined in
its constitution and cannot be compromised. He added, “Ukrainians will not give
their land to the occupier. Any solutions made without Ukraine are solutions
against peace. They will never succeed.”
