Pete
Davidson has addressed how the viral “Big D Energy” label, which originated
from a joking comment by Ariana Grande, made him feel embarrassed and
objectified. Speaking in a recent interview, he explained that the media’s
obsession with the phrase overshadowed his professional achievements and
reduced him to a stereotype.
He said that
instead of being recognized for his comedy and acting work, people referred to
him in crude terms, which was hurtful. Davidson pointed out the double standard
in media coverage, noting that if a woman were subjected to the same treatment,
there would likely have been widespread outrage.
Despite the negativity, Davidson is now focusing on the future. With his partner Elsie Hewitt expecting their first child, he says he is shifting from “Big D Energy” to “Big Dad Energy” and is looking forward to embracing fatherhood while continuing to build his career.
