Things star Millie Bobby Brown, 21, announced that she and her husband Jake
Bongiovi have welcomed their first child via adoption. In an Instagram post,
she shared: “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We
are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in
both peace and privacy.”
The
announcement comes amidst lighthearted fan commentary noting the surprise: many
joked at the idea that the young actress, still playing a teenager on-screen,
is now a mother.
Millie
elaborated that starting a family early has long been her wish—her own mother
had her first child at 21, and her father at 19. She said, “It's something I wanted
before I even met Jake.” While she remains committed to building her career in
acting and producing, she emphasized the importance of beginning a family. She
said, “My thing was, I really want a family … but for me, I don't see having
your own child as any different than in adopting.”
Known for
her love of animals—many of which she adopted—Millie noted that her home’s
welcoming energy remains the same: *“The door is always open.”* Early
reconciled signs were spotted in March when she bought baby supplies, though
she later downplayed pregnancy rumors.
With the
arrival of their daughter, the couple steps into parenthood thoughtfully and
intentionally, celebrating a moment they've clearly planned for—and embracing
their expanding family with love.
