star David Justice recently opened up about the reasons behind his marriage to
Halle Berry ending nearly 30 years ago. Speaking candidly, he shared that his
limited relationship experience and traditional views shaped how he saw
marriage. He explained that he expected a wife to handle domestic tasks—like
cooking and cleaning—and when he didn’t see those traits, he began to question
their future together.
Justice also
mentioned that Berry proposed to him after only five months of dating. At the time,
he wasn’t fully committed emotionally but agreed to marry her rather than hurt
her feelings. As Berry’s career took off, their time apart increased, putting
further strain on the marriage.
He
recognized that their relationship could possibly have survived if they had
known about therapy back then. Reflecting on their divorce, Justice admitted
regret and noted that they were still in the honeymoon stage when he started
having doubts.
He also
addressed years of public speculation following their split, including rumors
that he was a violent ex. Justice appreciated that Berry later clarified that
he wasn't the abuser, helping to put the matter to rest. Now 59, he has moved
on and is remarried with three children, while Berry continues her journey with
major roles, relationships, and her two children.
