Former U.S.
President Donald Trump recently addressed why granting a pardon to rapper Sean
"Diddy" Combs would be challenging, even though he has not been
convicted of any crimes.
Trump
explained that Diddy had made several harsh statements about him in the past,
which now make the decision to issue a pardon far more complicated.
“When
someone publicly speaks so negatively about you—sometimes without cause—it
naturally makes it harder to extend a helping hand later on,” Trump said.
Although
Diddy has not been officially charged, he has faced multiple investigations in
recent times. Trump added that while he believes in second chances, the rapper’s
prior comments have definitely influenced his perspective.
Many have
speculated on whether political figures will involve themselves in the
situation. For now, Trump made it clear that no final decision has been made,
but that past words carry weight in matters like these.
