Machine Gun Kelly has shared details about his breakup with Megan Fox and a
private rehabilitation stay in his latest song, *Treading Water*, from the
album *Lost Americana*.
In the
heartfelt track, he reflects on the end of their relationship with regret and
honesty, vowing to change for their daughter, Saga Blade Fox-Baker, who was
born earlier this year. The couple separated at the end of 2024 but are
reportedly co-parenting successfully.
MGK revealed
he spent Christmas and New Year’s in rehab, aiming to improve himself for his
daughter. Lyrics from the song express his emotional struggle:
“This’ll be
the last time you hear me say sorry... I broke this home.”
“I spent
Christmas in rehab, just trying to be better for my daughter.”
Speaking on
a podcast, he explained that music gave him a way to express emotions he
couldn’t otherwise share. He also said that both he and Megan chose not to
publicly discuss their split to avoid fueling speculation.
