Ozzy Osbourne Family
Aimee Osbourne, the eldest
daughter of legendary rock icon Ozzy Osbourne, made a rare public appearance
during her father’s funeral procession on 30 July 2025.
Just a week earlier, on 22 July,
fans were informed that Ozzy—widely known as the “Prince of Darkness”—had
passed away at age 76 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Held in his hometown of
Birmingham, the emotional procession was attended by Ozzy’s wife of 43 years,
Sharon Osbourne, along with their children Jack, Aimee, and Kelly. The funeral
cortege passed Ozzy’s childhood home on Lodge Road, Aston, at around 12:45 PM
on its route toward the city center.
Outside the terraced house near
Villa Park, fans placed floral tributes, and a photo of Ozzy was displayed in
the front window by the current residents.
Ozzy was the father of six
children—Jessica and Louis with ex-wife Thelma Riley, and her son Elliot from a
previous relationship whom Ozzy adopted. With Sharon, he shared Aimee, Jack,
and Kelly.
While Jack and Kelly became
familiar public figures through the MTV reality show The Osbournes*
(2002–2005), Aimee chose to stay away from the spotlight. She moved out of the
family home at age 16, preferring a private life.
In a 2020 interview, she
explained: “Back then, I was still trying to figure out who I was in the chaos
of family life, so why would I want that portrayed on television? I wanted to
protect myself—and also my parents and siblings.”
Now 41, Aimee paid tribute to her
father with a small but meaningful gesture—a bat-shaped brooch on her blazer.
This quietly referenced one of the most infamous moments in Ozzy’s career: the
1982 incident when he bit the head off a bat on stage, thinking it was a rubber
toy.
Ozzy later recalled in his 2010
memoir *I Am Ozzy*, “Somebody threw a bat. I just thought it was a rubber bat.
I picked it up and put it in my mouth. I bit into it.”
The bat became an enduring symbol
of Ozzy’s wild rock persona, and Aimee’s homage didn’t go unnoticed.
Other family members also honored
him with their outfit choices. Kelly was seen wearing Ozzy’s iconic round
sunglasses—a signature look he adopted in the 1990s inspired by John Lennon.
The public procession drew thousands of fans to the streets of Birmingham. They chanted his name, laid flowers, and sang along with a live brass band performing Black Sabbath classics. Sharon and the children were photographed tearfully reading messages left at memorial spots, quietly absorbing the love shown by fans.
It was also revealed that Sharon
Osbourne personally paid for the costs of road closures and logistics for the
funeral procession, ensuring a smooth and respectful public farewell to one of rock’s
greatest legends.
